Hillary Clinton did not maintain a close public relationship with the IT expert who set up her private email address and server, her former chief of staff said in a deposition last week.

Cheryl Mills, who also spoke with the FBI regarding Clinton's email use during her time as secretary of state, talked with Judicial Watch for seven hours at a Washington, D.C. law firm last Friday.

The transcript was released Tuesday and the news was first reported by The Hill

Bryan Pagliano was the State Department IT aide who set up Clinton's email.

"In my presence, I don't recall occasions where he interacted with the Secretary," Mills said.

When asked about whether she saw Pagliano interact with anyone in Clinton's office, she said, "In my presence, I don't recall him engaging with folks in the Secretary's office."

Mills said she met with Pagliano about various issues "from time to time," and said she did not have "contemporaneous knowledge" of Pagliano doing work on Clinton's email server.

Mills added, however, "In the course of my representation of Secretary Clinton, I do have knowledge of that."
