$1M Ad Blast Targets Individual Congressional Republicans Over Healthcare Support

A progressive group is airing television ads attacking House Republicans who backed their party's plan to replace the Affordable Care Act.

Save My Care spent over $1 million on ads singling out seven Republicans in their home districts, all of which are key Democratic targets for 2018. One ad claims Rep. Darrell Issa of California "promised to protect our healthcare, but when right-wing politicians tried to pass a disastrous healthcare repeal bill that raises cost and cuts coverage, Issa wouldn't oppose them."

The ad cites a Congressional Budget Office report on an early draft of the plan that estimated $24 million in lost coverage in the next 10 years.

"Tell Issa: Stop trying to repeal our healthcare."

The group will also air ads against Reps. Martha McSally of Arizona, Carlos Curbelo and Brian Mast of Florida, Mike Coffman of Colorado, Tom MacArthur of New Jersey and David Valadao of California.

An anonymous source close to Save My Care told The Washington Post, "The best way to make sure the GOP doesn't keep trying to repeal healthcare is to make sure their constituents know how damaging their plan really is."
