Despite his indictment for allegedly misusing campaign funds, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. holds an eight-point lead over Democratic challenger Ammar Campa-Najjar, a new Monmouth University poll reveals.
The latest survey shows Hunter with a 49 percent to 41 percent advantage.
Here is how the poll in California’s 50th Congressional District breaks down:
- 35 percent have a favorable opinion of Hunter, while 33 percent have an unfavorable view of him. Thirty-two percent have no opinion.
- 24 percent have a favorable view of Campa-Najjar, compared to 16 percent who have a favorable opinion of him. Sixty percent say they have no opinion.
- 52 percent approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing, compared to 42 percent who do not.
The poll, conducted Sept. 22-26, surveyed 401 voters in the district. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
