Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is concerned about his son's legal exposure in the Russia investigation — and special counsel Robert Mueller could manipulate the vulnerability to get Flynn to implicate President Donald Trump and others, CNN reported Wednesday.

The network cited "multiple sources familiar with the matter" in its report.

In addition, Flynn's wife, Lori, "shares his concerns" about Michael Flynn Jr.'s possible legal exposure, "according to a person who knows the family," CNN disclosed.

However, "it is not clear that either of the Flynns will face charges once the investigation is complete."

Flynn and his son are facing scrutiny from Mueller's investigators because of the elder Flynn's business dealings through his overseas consulting firm, Flynn Intel Group.

Flynn Jr. was his father's chief of staff and top aide — and he was "actively involved" in the company, CNN reported.

"That included joining his father on overseas trips, such as Moscow in December 2015," according to the report.

Flynn had dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the trip at a gala for the RT television network, considered by U.S. intelligence agencies to be a Russian propaganda operation.

The Foreign Agents Registration Act requires Americans working as agents of foreign companies to disclose their relationships with foreign countries or businesses, as well as any compensation for such work.

In addition, Flynn is under scrutiny for not disclosing to the Justice Department that he did lobbying for the Turkish government during last year's presidential campaign, CNN reports.

President Trump fired Flynn in February amid concerns about his disclosures about his Moscow dealings to Vice President Mike Pence.

Flynn's lawyer did not respond to "multiple requests for comment," CNN reports, adding counsel for Flynn Jr. declined to comment.
