Although she does not like being harshly criticized in the press or by political opponents, Ivanka Trump told Fox News that it is important to continue the attempt to improve the lives of millions of Americans who are depending on a change for the better.
"I'd be disingenuous if I said [the harsh attacks against her] didn't affect me," Ivanka Trump said when asked how she deals with the vindictiveness against her. "I think, though, at the end of the day the real people suffering in this country are not me and my family. We can take it."
Ivanka Trump, who is both daughter and adviser to the president, then went on to say that the real people suffering are "the millions of Americans we saw across this country who are addicted to opioids or have lost a child to opioid abuse, who have lost their jobs because their industry can longer be competitive."
She emphasized that "These are the people who are really suffering," adding that "If we have to take a few body blows in advocating for those men and women, I think everyone in my family and everyone in this administration is honored to do it."
