Ivanka Trump, calling tax reform a critical part of her father's plan to boost the economy, said she is confident Congress will pass the plan.
Trump's comments came during an interview on Monday's "Fox & Friends."
"The purpose of tax reform is to provide middle-income tax relief and to enable our businesses to grow and our economy to grow," Trump said. "And we think this is going to happen.
"Tax reform is a critical component of our plan to invigorate the economy. The purpose of tax reform is to provide middle-income tax relief and to enable our businesses to grow and our economy to grow. We think this is going to happen."
Trump was asked about the Senate bill doing away with state and local tax (SALT) deductions.
"Well, I think House Ways and Means really solved that problem in a very collaborative way in allowing property taxes to be deducted.
"The Senate is still not there, and they're working on the details of the SALT issue together."
The president's daughter was expected to be in New Jersey on Monday to push for the tax package, according to the Asbury Park Press.
