Former President Donald Trump believes that the arguments being made by Democrat House impeachment managers in his Senate trial are "very easily rebutted" because they are leaving out key details from the address the president made before the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol started, Jason Miller, a 2020 senior Trump campaign adviser, said Wednesday.

"There's a critical detail here," Miller told Fox News' "America Reports," saying he spoke with Trump "five minutes" before going on the air. "The Democrats aren't using the entire speech. Everything is selective. Not only regarding his speech but regarding the Constitution ... they haven't played the clips of President Trump saying be peaceful, patriotic."

Meanwhile, Miller said the process so far, with the impeachment managers taking the podium to outline their case that Trump incited the riot of his supporters, is progressing in a similar manner to his first impeachment case last year.

"We saw the Democrats fire off everything good they had during the first day and then their arguments really fell apart in the second and third days of the trial," said Miller.

He also pointed out that the impeachment managers had initially said the trial was about his speech on Jan. 6 and the riot, but now are bringing up Trump's comments from months before.

"This is really about trying to impact President Trump in case he wants to run again in 2024," said Miller.

He also complained about the "hypocrisy" from the Democrats, considering inflammatory comments people from their own party have made.

Miller also commented on the complaints some have voiced about Trump's impeachment legal team and said Trump does think one of the attorneys, David Schoen, did a "very excellent job," and that Bruce Castor made some good points.

He further said Trump is in a "great mood," downplaying reports that the former leader was angry over his legal team's Tuesday performance.
