Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe on Thursday said the Environmental Protection Agency up until now has been "brainwashing our kids" about climate change.
Inhofe, widely known as the top skeptic of climate change in Congress and who once referred to the EPA as the Gestapo, said things are going to change under the agency's new leader, Scott Pruitt.
"We want to deliver the services, we want to make things clean, but we want to take all this stuff that comes out of the EPA that's brainwashing our kids, that is propaganda, things that aren't true," Inhofe said on CNN's "New Day" morning show.
It wasn't Inhofe's first time suggesting that the EPA is brainwashing kids into believing climate change.
"My own granddaughter came home one day and said, 'Popi, why is it you don't understand global warming?'" Inhofe said during an interview last summer. "The stuff they teach our kids nowadays, they are brainwashed — you have to un-brainwash them when they get out."
In fact Pruitt, the former attorney general of Oklahoma and friend of Inhofe's, has loaded up his management team with former staffers of Inhofe's, The New York Times reported.
