Vice President Joe Biden, widely believed to be considering a run for president, said something Monday that sounded to many like a swipe at Hillary Clinton, who would be his main rival for the Democratic nomination.
Speaking at a White House event on climate change, Biden noted that California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa is "not a Republican friend of mine. He’s a friend," adding, "I don't consider Republicans enemies, they’re friends."
That recalled a line from Clinton in last week's Democratic debate. She was asked to name the enemies she has made that she is most proud of.
"Well, in addition to the NRA, the drug companies, the insurance companies, the Iranians – probably the Republicans," answered Clinton, who has accused Republicans in Congress of targeting her with the current Benghazi investigation and accusations of sending classified information over her private email server as secretary of state.
