Key Watergate conspirator John Dean is tweeting that any damning testimony from former Donald Trump campaign adviser Richard Gates could spell the "end" of Trump's presidency, The Hill reports.
Gates pleaded guilty last week to conspiracy and lying to the FBI in a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller and agreed to "fully" cooperate in the Russia probe.
Dean, former President Richard Nixon's White House counsel from 1970 to 1973, tweeted:
Gates's guilty plea means he could be a key witness against Manafort.
Dean also tweeted that Trump may not be able to pardon Manafort.
Dean cooperated with Watergate prosecutors and served a reduced jail sentence of just four months.
