Kerry on 2020 Run: 'I Don't Have Any Plans Right Now'

(MSNBC's "Morning Joe")

John Kerry said he is "right now" not intending to run for president in 2020.

The 2004 Democratic presidential candidate made the comment Wednesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"You're tanned, you're rested, you're ready, you're younger than anybody else talking about running for president of the United States. Is it Kerry 2020?" asked "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough.

"I don't have any plans right now, honestly," Kerry said.

Scarborough and other "Morning Joe" panelists noted that Kerry's comment was not a denial.

"You're a troublemaker," Kerry told Scarborough.

Kerry, a former Massachusetts senator and U.S. secretary of state, took part in a conference at Yale on climate change issues with actor Leonardo Dicaprio on Tuesday, according to a tweet from Kerry.
