Sen. John McCain said Wednesday the ongoing Russia saga is having a negative impact on the Republican Party's agenda.
"It's sucking the oxygen out of the room. Everybody knows that," McCain told CNN.
"I think it's very difficult when you have this overwhelming barrage of new information that unfolds every few days. I think it's obvious."
There are several ongoing investigations into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to win last year's presidential election, including a Department of Justice probe headed by former FBI director Robert Mueller.
It was revealed this week that Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer last summer after he was promised potentially damaging information on Democrat Hillary Clinton — which he was told came from the Russian government.
President Donald Trump has called the entire Russia matter a "witch hunt" and said he did not collude with the Kremlin.
