Florida lawyer and businessman John Morgan said he's done with the Democratic Party, won't seek its nomination for governor, and reportedly won't raise money for the DNC because it's stacked with "dumb ass political hacks."

His surprise announcement came in a pair of tweets Friday.

But Morgan is still leaving the door open to run for governor — "just not as a Dem" — and would still support Democratic candidates he "likes personally," including Sen. Bill Nelson, Politico reported.

Morgan told Politico he thinks Nelson should spurn a fourth term in the Senate where "he accomplishes nothing."

"I believe [Nelson] should run for [Florida] governor," Morgan told Politico. "He is the Dem's best chance and he would be happier there. In the Senate he accomplishes nothing. As governor he could have a legacy."

Morgan also said he's done raising money for the Democratic National Committee.

"F*** no," he told Politico. "That's like pissing money down a rat hole. Read [former interim DNC chairman] Donna [Brazile's] book . . . Bunch of dumb ass political hacks."
