Jonathan Bush, a younger brother of the late George H.W. Bush, is dead at 89. He died Wednesday night, hours before his 90th birthday.
The George & Barbara Bush Foundation tweeted a statement reading: "The foundation pauses to mourn the passing of President Bush's beloved brother Jonathan. Our prayers and love are with the Bush family as we remember a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, a fine gentleman, and a noble soul."
"And knowing Jonathan, he also would like for us to observe he was a great song and dance man — without a doubt the best dancer of his siblings, all of whom he now joins in heaven."
It is not immediately clear how he died.
Bush was the fourth child of the late Sen. Prescott Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Jonathan and his wife, Josephine, were the parents of former NBC reporter Billy Bush. Jonathan spent a lifetime in banking and investment until his retirement in 2018. He had invested in his nephew George W. Bush's presidential fundraiser, called Bush Pioneer, according to The Sun.
