Ex-Obama DOJ Attorney: '100 Percent Comfortable With Judge Gorsuch'

The Judicial Crisis Network

A former Justice Department attorney under President Barack Obama backed the candidacy of Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, saying in a new ad she is "100 percent comfortable with Judge Gorsuch."

The Judicial Crisis Network based the entire 30-second ad on Jane Nitze, who once clerked for Gorsuch before going to work in Obama's administration.

"I don't think folks on the left should be concerned about Judge Gorsuch becoming a Supreme Court justice," Nitze says in the ad.

"He is extraordinarily fair-minded; he will approach each case the same, regardless of the issue or the parties before him. And he will have a great deal of respect for folks on all sides of the ideological spectrum.

"I worked for the Obama administration. I have to say I'm 100 percent comfortable with Judge Gorsuch becoming the next Supreme Court Justice," Nitze concludes.

Nitze also clerked for liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the Washington Examiner reported.

The ad, part of a $10 million campaign advocating for Gorsuch's confirmation, is targeted to run in five states, according to the Examiner:

  • Colorado.
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Indiana.
  • Missouri.
  • North Dakota.
