The conservative Judicial Crisis Network is launching $175,000 in ads praising Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, for his role in blocking President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland.

According to Politico, the network's ads are encouraging Grassley toward the impending confirmation of a high court nominee submitted by President-elect Donald Trump.

In the ad, a narrator says, "They said it would be too hard. A risky gamble. They said he would have to give in and approve Obama's liberal Supreme Court nominee.

"Liberals attacked him over and over. But Sen. Grassley stood strong, protected the Supreme Court during a heated presidential campaign. Sen. Grassley's been fighting for Iowa's conservative values for years. This year, he led the fight for the rule of law and made us proud. Tell Sen. Grassley thank you."

Sources told Politico more ads could be in the works to help with the confirmation of Trump's justices.

"The president and the Senate have the opportunity to nominate and confirm a Supreme Court justice that protects our founding document from overreach and liberal interpretation in a way that honors the late Justice Scalia's legacy of jurisprudence," Judicial Crisis Network chief counsel Carrie Severino said, reports Politico.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein will lead the Democrats as ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and promised to pay "very close attention" to Trump's nominees, according to The Washington Post.

"After the unprecedented and disrespectful treatment of Merrick Garland — a moderate judge who should have been quickly confirmed — the committee will pay very close attention to proposed nominees to ensure the fundamental constitutional rights of Americans are protected," Feinstein said in a statement.
