The Judicial Crisis Network is set to launch an advertising blitz in an attempt to pressure red state Democratic senators to support President Donald Trump's pick for the Supreme Court, The Hill is reporting.
About $1.4 million is expected to be spent by the group for digital and cable ads. The ads will be released following the president's announcement of his nominee on Monday, The Hill is reporting.
Those Democrats targeted in the ads include Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Doug Jones of Alabama. All but Jones is up for re-election this year.
The ads are scheduled to run for one week, but the Judicial Crisis Network has also reserved four more weeks of air time, The Hill said.
The Hill noted Democratic votes could be key to winning confirmation for the Trump nominee since Republicans hold a slim Senate majority.
Meanwhile, Americans for Prosperity, a group backed by mega-donors Charles and David Koch, is ready to spend over $1 million to back Trump's nominee, Politico said.
