President Donald Trump's push to create "Kate's Law," named after the San Francisco woman inexplicably shot dead by an illegal immigrant, has been passed by the House — but in a watered-down version bound to disappoint the commander-in-chief.

The law, named after Kate Steinle, included mandatory sentencing requirements for illegal immigrants who re-enter the U.S. after being deported, as was the victim's killer.

But GOP lawmakers struck the prison provision which could have led to "skyrocketing federal incarceration rates," The Daily Beast reports.

Last year on the campaign trail Trump stated, "On my first day in office, I am also going to ask Congress to pass 'Kate's Law' — named for Kate Steinle — to ensure that criminal aliens convicted of illegal re-entry face strong mandatory minimum sentences."

The altered bill will now head to the Senate.
