James O'Keefe: Grimes Needs to Come Clean on Coal

By    |   Tuesday, 07 October 2014 02:41 PM EDT

Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan-Grimes, who is running against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, needs to tell the truth to her constituents about how much she really supports the coal industry, says journalist James O'Keefe.

The filmmaker and founder of ProjectVeritas.com took video footage of both Grimes' staffers and Democratic Party employees at local chapters who admitted that the Kentucky Democrat is only saying she supports the coal industry for political purposes.

"Every person we talked to had the same exact opinion," O'Keefe told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Tuesday.

"There was no differentiation, they all echoed the same concept, which is that she is not telling the truth about what she believes," he explained.

"These are not just Washington people, who are paid to say whatever, these are the true blue believers, the boots on the ground . . . in Kentucky who believe in their candidate, and they're all saying the exact same thing," he said.

"She needs to disavow the comments or tell the truth," he added.
