Rep. Kevin Brady, R.-Texas., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee vowed the Republican replacement for Obamacare will be shorter and simpler.

"One big thing, I think people are assuming Republicans will act like Democrats with a 2,000-page bill that no one knows what's in it," Brady told radio host Hugh Hewitt.

"We're doing just the opposite. Our replacement is going to be step-by-step, thoughtful and understandable.

"And so this is a historical effort by Republicans in Congress and this new president. But equally important is look, this is health care. This is real people. So they deserve affordable health care that's tailored to them, that's delivered by the states, not by Washington.

"If I win my argument, we're going to have a very simple step-by-step process that lays out the options for America to choose a better type of health care that's tailored to them."

Brady says he expects the repeal bill to be on President-elect Donald Trump's desk sometime in February.

"That's the timetable we're working under," said Brady.

Trump said Wednesday his administration will introduce a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare "essentially simultaneously," The Hill reports.

"It will be various segments, you understand, but it will most likely be on the same day or the same week," Trump said.
