Three political groups backed by the conservative Koch brothers slammed President Donald Trump's DACA tweet and pushed him to compromise on a deal to fix the "Dreamers" program, The Hill reports.

Trump on Sunday ripped "ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws," called for the Senate to go "nuclear" to "pass tough laws now," and vowed "no more DACA deal."

The billionaire Koch brothers have poured millions of dollars into GOP campaigns.

LIBRE Initiative President Daniel Garza said Trump's comments were "extremely disappointing" and said both parties in Congress were willing to "provide funding for border security." He also said Dreamers "have contributed to our economy and our communities."

Americans for Prosperity Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner pushed a bipartisan deal, saying: "There's a clear path forward that all sides should be able to support, yet instead of finding a solution, Washington is back to the same political games that allowed this problem to become a crisis."

Freedom Partners Executive Vice President James Davis said it would be "irresponsible and represent a grave injustice" not to compromise with Democrats on a permanent fix to DACA in exchange for $25 billion for border security.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, allowed people who illegally came to the United States as children with their parents to stay if they met certain criteria. Trump ended DACA in September with a six-month delay and said Congress needed to come up with a solution for the affected Dreamers. DACA was set to end March 5, but court battles have effectively nullified that deadline.
