President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law hosted a "real news" program on his Facebook page to tout the president's accomplishments, BuzzFeed News reports.
"Want to know what President Trump did this week?" read a post that appeared on Trump's Facebook page on Sunday. "Watch here for the REAL news!"
"I bet you haven't heard about all the accomplishments the president had this week because there's so much fake news out there," Lara Trump, who is married to the president's son, Eric, said in a video, speaking directly to the camera similarly to a news anchor.
"We wanted to give you a glimpse into his week."
BuzzFeed found that the mainstream media did cover many of the achievements Lara Trump mentioned: the new Foxconn manufacturing plant that will be built in Wisconsin, which The Washington Post wrote about; the president donating his salary to charity, covered by USA Today; and recent economic growth, written about by CNN, among others.
"The president also met with some incredible veterans this week in Ohio, giving his thanks to them for their service to our country," she added. "Likewise, the vice president visited Walter Reed hospital, where he sat down and talked to so many wounded soldiers who have put their lives on the line for all of us."
President Trump tweeted on Tuesday that he had no intention of changing his use of social media to communicate with the public, saying only his opponents want him to cease.
