The Trump campaign is "doing everything" it can do to help provide coronavirus precautions at Saturday's return campaign rally, but at the same time, the campaign also believes in personal freedoms and their choice whether or not to attend the rally, senior campaign adviser Lara Trump said Friday.

"We chose Oklahoma because they were the first day in the country to lift their COVID restrictions and we are going above and beyond to make sure that we are doing temperature checks when people come in, being given masks, hand sanitizer, doing everything we can to help on that front, but it is going to be a great celebration and we felt like it was time to start," Trump, who is married to President Donald Trump's son Eric, told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

Oklahoma is experiencing some spikes in its coronavirus numbers, but Trump said that people attending the event will be allowed to chose whether or not to wear masks.

"If they feel like they are in a safer demographic and they don't want to wear a mask, we are not going to go around and enforce it for every single person," Trump said. "But you contrast this rally, this one Trump rally with what everyone saw happen in these protests all across this country...the hypocrisy is very obvious to people here, I think."

She said that part of the Tulsa event will be outside because of the large number of people expected to attend, so the rally will have "more of a festival feel...this kind of feels like the kickoff to reopening the country."

Meanwhile, the president has warned potential agitators from interfering with the rally, after the mayor of Tulsa instituted a curfew for Friday night after receiving some warnings of unrest, and Trump told Fox News it is a "shame that anyone would hijack anything . . . we don't need you there. This is a joyful celebration, and we want it to remain that way."
