President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that CBS reporter Lesley Stahl conducted a one-sided interview to air on "60 Minutes" this Sunday, calling it "faked and biased" and threatening to release a White House recording of it early.
Trump initially posted a six-second video on Twitter of an unmasked Stahl at the White House after her interview Tuesday with the president, teasing "more to come."
Stahl said in May that she was hospitalized for COVID-19, just as Trump was earlier this month.
Two hours later, Trump tweeted a two-item post that was critical of Stahl.
"I am pleased to inform you that, for the sake of accuracy in reporting, I am considering posting my interview with Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes, PRIOR TO AIRTIME! This will be done so that everybody can get a glimpse of what a FAKE and BIASED interview is all about," he wrote. "Everyone should compare this terrible Electoral Intrusion with the recent interviews of Sleepy Joe Biden!"
Deadline.com reported that Trump sat for the interview with Stahl but later canceled a "walk and talk" with Vice President Mike Pence.
"You have to watch what we are going to do to '60 Minutes,'" Trump said later Tuesday during a campaign event in Erie, Pennsylvania. "You are going to get such a kick out of it. Lesley Stahl is not going to be happy."
