The controversy of revoked security clearances from former President Barack Obama officials is "fake outrage," according to former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who ripped ex-CIA Director John Brennan for "profiteering" off his access.
"It's fake outrage," Lewandowski told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y. "What secrets do we think former Director of Central Intelligence Brennan still has to be privy to? And what communication [is there where] he is required to have a top-secret security clearance that he still needs to have with the current administration?"
Lewandowski accused the "paid political pundit" Brennan, a Obama administration official, of "profiteering off" his security clearance, while taking political positions which can undermine the President of the United States.
"He is a paid political pundit for television, and any information that he is receiving on top-secret issues should no longer be relayed to him," Lewandowski told host John Catsimatidis.
". . . He should not have access to classified information — and he takes that information and he probably is profiteering off of it by sitting on boards and other places that he can utilize the information for material gain."
Lewandowski, who was the Trump campaign manager before Paul Manafort became chairman, is now working for Vice President Mike Pence's PAC to support Republicans who support the Trump-Pence agenda in this November's midterms. He predicts a GOP increase in the Senate, and "no blue wave coming" in the House, even if Republicans lose seats to Democrats.
"I think what you're going to see is an increase in the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate — I predict a 3- to 4-seat increase," Lewandowski told Catsimatidis. "In the House, if the election were held today, it's going to be very very close.
"But what we do know for sure is there is no blue wave coming. That's not to say the Democrats won’t pick up seats . . . There is no 63-seat swing coming like Obama lost. Or 64 seats that [former President Bill] Clinton lost. If the Democrats gain seats, it will be a much smaller number than what has been done historically because of the success of this administration."
Lewandowski added praise for the primary success of candidates endorsed by President Trump.
"What we learned is that Donald Trump has the golden touch," Lewandowski said. "Every time he endorses someone in a primary, they win."
