Sen. Lindsey Graham urged President Donald Trump to "fix" his controversial statements about the violence at a white supremacist rally, The Hill reported.
Graham's comments came in response to a Twitter attack on him Thursday morning by Trump, according to the Hill.
In his response, the South Carolina Republican noted Trump was receiving praise "from some of the most racist and hate-filled individuals and groups in our country" for remarks about the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Trump has blamed the violence on white supremacists and counter-protesters.
"For the sake of our Nation — as our President — please fix this," Graham said. "History is watching us all."
Earlier on Thursday, Trump had tweeted:
Heyer was killed when a man drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, the Hill reported.
