Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday the nation will "know real soon" if there was collusion between Russia and the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.
In an interview on CBS News’ "Face The Nation," the South Carolina Republican said he is "not worried about" communication between the campaign and Russia during the transition period after the election.
There "is no evidence of collusion, nobody has been charged with it, but you found one person who would know if it did exist," he said, referring to former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
"So it won't be long before we understand one way or the other that the Trump people colluded with Russia because I can't imagine it happening and Flynn not knowing about it,’ he said.
Flynn pleaded guilty last Friday that he lied to the FBI about his communications with Russia’s ambassador during the Trump campaign transition period.
"What Flynn lied about, I don't think it's wrong for a transition person," Graham said. "I'm not worried about what happened after the election in terms of trying to communicate with the Russians about the Israeli resolution or about sanctions."
On the issue of rising tensions with North Korea, Graham warned that the United States is "getting close to military conflict because North Korea's marching towards the technology of an [intercontinental ballistic missile] with a nuclear weapon on top that cannot only get to America, but deliver the weapon."
" We're running out of time," he said, adding he’s going to urge the Pentagon "not to send any more [U.S.] dependents to South Korea," adding: |" I think it's now time to start moving American dependents out of the South Korea."
"Everybody before President Trump screwed it up including Republicans, " he said of North Korea’s nuclear buildup. "Now we need to get it right. I think he's got the right approach, he's got the right team. I hope China will help us, we're running out of time."
