Sen. Lindsey Graham said Friday that if Republicans fail on tax reform, "that's the end of the Republican Party's governing majority in 2018."
"We'll lose the House, probably lose ground in the Senate," the South Carolina Republican told Fox Radio host Brian Kilmeade. "President Trump has got a profile different from the party.
"There's kinda two or three different Republican Parties now, I guess, but we're all in it together."
The White House said Friday that cutting the nation's corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent could expand the economy by as much as $1.2 trillion over a decade, while causing average household income to eventually rise by $4,000 a year.
Graham also told Kilmeade that if Democrats gained a majority in the lower chamber next year, they would move to impeach Trump.
"I can't imagine how he could be successful with Nancy Pelosi running the House," Graham said, referring to the California Democrat and House minority leader.
"They'd try to impeach him pretty quick — and it would be just one constant investigation after another.
"So, it's important that we pass tax reform in a meaningful way," he added. "If we don't, that's probably the end of the Republican Party as we know it."
Politico reported Tuesday that Pelosi told party leaders that Republicans would lose their House majority if they failed to enact tax reform.
