Jeb Bush's complaints about Donald Trump are coming across "as a little bit whiny," fellow GOP candidate Lindsey Graham said Monday, calling for Bush and all candidates to challenge Trump more effectively.
"Donald Trump will get killed in an election," the South Carolina Republican told
MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program. "Hillary Clinton will mop up the floor with this guy."
On Saturday, Bush slammed Trump at a South Carolina town hall, reports
CNN, saying that he's got "a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that."
Over the weekend,
Trump poked fun at Bush after news broke that the former Florida govenor plans cuts in his campaign operations.
"Bush has no money, he's meeting today with mommy and daddy, and they're working on his campaign," Trump told a Jacksonville crowd. "He's a guy wants to run our country and he can't even run his own campaign," Trump said. "Think of it."
As far as Trump goes, "if you want to win the race, we have two problems, Hispanics and young woman," said Graham. "Donald Trump's position is hateful and illogical ... If you give a darn about winning, [the 2016 presidential race] pick someone else."
Graham also criticized another GOP front-runner, Ben Carson, for his absolute disapproval of abortion under any circumstances, saying that he does not believe that a candidate who believes that can win the White House with such a stance.
"I would not tell a woman that they have to carry the baby of a rapist," Graham said, while noting that he is pro-life and believes most Americans would not agree that abortions should be banned in all circumstances.
"I appreciate your passion for the pro life issue, but you're outside the mainstream, and anyone with that position will get creamed," said Graham.
