Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., responded to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who blasted his healthcare bill on his TV show Tuesday night.

Kimmel, whose son required open-heart surgery shortly after being born, had Sen. Bill Cassidy on his show about four months ago, where the senator vowed to support "the Jimmy Kimmel test" to provide coverage to infants regardless of the parent's ability to pay.

"This guy, Bill Cassidy, he just lied right to my face," Kimmel said on Tuesday.

"Not only did Bill Cassidy fail the Jimmy Kimmel test, but he failed the Bill Cassidy test, too," he added.

Graham defended the bill on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" Wednesday.

"Here's what I'd say to Mr. Kimmel: I understand the emotional nature of having a sick child, and we're all grateful your child is doing well," Graham said. "I bet you he never called Sen. Cassidy and said 'would you please set this straight?' I bet he looked at some liberal talking point, bought it hook, line, and sinker, and went after Bill Cassidy without talking to him, and I think that's unfair."

Cassidy also responded on Wednesday, telling CNN's "New Day" that he's "sorry" Kimmel "does not understand."
