Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., is launching two ads attacking her Democrat opponent Raphael Warnock ahead of their Jan. 5 runoff.

Her campaign is putting over $1 million behind the two 30-second spots, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In one ad, Warnock is seen defending the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the controversial friend of former President Barack Obama.

The newspaper reported Wright’s sermons became a flashpoint in Obama’s 2008 run for president.

In the ad, a narrator says: “Warnock defended Jeremiah Wright’s hatred, then gave him an award for truth-telling. Warnock celebrated anti-American hatred.”

Warnock is heard in a clip saying: “Jeremiah Wright is doing what he should do. He is a preacher and a prophet.”

The ad closes with the narrator saying: “Raphael Warnock … a radical’s radical.”

The other ad opens with children in a classroom pledging allegiance.

A narrator says: “This is America. But will it still be if the radical left controls the Senate?”

It goes on to accuse Warnock of calling police “thugs and gangsters.” And the narrator adds: ”Raphael Warnock will give the radicals total control. Saving the Senate is about saving America.”

Warnock spokesman Terrence Clark said: “These ads are misleading and say a lot about Kelly Loeffler. One would think the Senator would have something good to say about herself, but instead she’s resorting to the lowest of the low attacks to try and salvage her campaign.”

Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., are attempting to hold onto their seats in Jan. 5 runoffs and maintain control of the Senate for Republicans. Perdue is facing Democrat challenger Jon Ossoff.
