Dallas Mavericks owner and reality TV star Mark Cuban said Monday he would vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton if the presidential election were held today.
Cuban, who counts presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump as a friend, months ago praised Trump's run, saying he has spiced up the campaign and forced other candidates to not be so scripted.
But he told CNN's "Erin Burnett Outfront" on Monday that Trump just hasn't been willing to educate himself on the issues.
"When it comes to real estate I'll defer to him every time," Cuban said. "But to be president of the United States you have to make an investment, you have to be committed to always learning. … You have to have a commitment to always finding out what's next. Donald won't even do that. I mean, he won't even learn how to send emails."
Trump deserves credit for "changing the game," Cuban said, and expressed hope that Trump will be able to change his mind in the next six months leading up to the general election.
"But I probably would say right now it would be Hillary, because the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know," Cuban said, saying that Clinton's website is full of depth and analysis on how she would tackle the issues.
"Go to Donald's website, which I have," Cuban said. "He lists issues. He lists top line things he would like to do. He doesn't say how he's going to get there."
