Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee is splashing out $1 million for a new TV ad campaign in her bid to succeed retiring Sen. Bob Corker.
The Volunteer State lawmaker purchased three months of statewide television advertising on Fox News leading into her Aug. 2 primary, The Washington Examiner reports.
The first ad will air on April 27 in major and small markets across Tennessee and run for 14 weeks, said Ward Baker, a senior Blackburn adviser.
If Blackburn, a Republican, wins the primary against top GOP challenger Stephen Fincher, she will go head to head with ex-Gov. Phil Bredesen, who is running on the Democratic ticket.
