Less than six months after he was defeated in his bid for a full term, former Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts finds himself quite popular in two states, where he could possibly run for office again.
In Massachusetts, Brown leads every Democratic gubernatorial prospect handily, according to a Public Policy Polling survey.
In a run for governor against Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin, Brown draws 43 percent to 39 percent; against Rep. Mike Capuano, 45 percent to 38 percent; state Treasurer Steve Grossman, 46 percent to 34 percent; and acting Sen. Mo Cowan, who was tapped to replace Secretary of State John Kerry until the special election this June, 48 percent to 31 percent.
Public Policy Polling found that among voters in New Hampshire — where Brown owns a cottage and has hinted he might run for the Senate — Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen leads Brown by a margin of 52 percent to 41 percent.
