Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former lawyer who pleaded guilty Tuesday to campaign violations in a hush-money scheme — saying the president directed him to do it — has a lot more to say, Cohen's lawyer warns.
In an interview Tuesday night on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show," Lanny Davis said Cohen "has knowledge on certain subjects that should be of interest to the special counsel" Robert Mueller "and is more than happy to tell special counsel all that he knows."
According to Davis, Cohen's information includes "not just . . . the obvious possibility of a conspiracy to collude and corrupt the American democracy system in the 2016 election," but also "knowledge about the computer crime of hacking and whether or not Mr. Trump knew ahead of time about that crime and even cheered it on."
"Mr. Mueller, who I greatly respect, will have a lot of interest in what Michael has to say," Davis added.
In a later interview on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time," Davis added Cohen has information about Trump that would be of interest to authorities in New York as well.
"I do believe that he has information about Mr. Trump that would be of interest both in Washington as well as in New York state," he said, without elaborating.
