Days after re-registering as a Democrat and months after resigning as the Republican National Committee deputy finance chairman, Michael Cohen tweeted a plea Sunday for his followers to get out and vote.

"The #MidtermElections2018 might be the most important vote in our lifetime. #GetOutAndVote #VoteNovember6th," the former personal attorney for President Donald Trump tweeted Sunday.

Cohen's tweet echoed the statement of Trump pollster John McLaughlin on Sunday morning's "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y.

"This is the most important midterm election in our lifetimes," McLaughlin told host John Catsimatidis on Sunday morning.

Last month, Cohen's attorney Lanny Davis, a Democratic political operative, tweeted praise for the embattled "fixer" for President Trump in breaking from his former client amid special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into 2016 election meddling and potential Trump campaign collusion with Russia.

"Good for @michaelcohen212 in providing critical information to the #muellerinvestigation without a cooperation agreement," Davis' Sept. 20 tweet read. "No one should question his honesty, veracity or loyalty to his #family and #country over @potus @realdonaldtrump."

Earlier this week, Davis teased a potential Cohen interview with ABC News' "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos, a former Democratic adviser:

"2-Today, @MichaelCohen212 returning to the #Democratic Party another step in his journey that began with the @ABC @GStephanopolous Cohen putting family and country first –distancing himself from the values of the current Admin – Can’t wait for his first interview! #StayTuned."
