Michael Reagan: GOP Is Now 'The Party of Trump'

The Republican Party is now "the party of Trump" — not Ronald Reagan anymore, political commentator Michael Reagan declared Tuesday.

Reagan, the eldest son of the 40th president, posted this tweet shortly after Trump won the Indiana primary:

The Republican Party is no longer the Party of Reagan it is now the Party of Trump..Good Luck @Reince @newsmax @FoxNews

Reagan also told host NewsmaxTV host Steve Malzberg on "America Votes: 2016" that the Indiana results prove that both Ted Cruz and John Kasich should drop out of the race and do as his father has done — support the eventual nominee.

"It's interesting all these people are talking about my father: 'The great Ronald Reagan. I wish we had him back.'

"Well, Ronald Reagan always supported the nominee of the party. Will these people in fact also go out and support the nominee of the party because that's the only way Donald Trump is going to win?"
