Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says he turned down a Cabinet position in President-elect Donald Trump's administration, citing debt from his own presidential campaign as one reason.

"You know, he offered me a cabinet position," Huckabee told Bill O'Reilly on Fox News. "I did not think it was a great fit for me."

O'Reilly then asked Huckabee, who ran for president in this past election but ended his campaign in February, which Cabinet post he was referring to.

"I can't say," he replied. "It was a secretary of … The reason I'm not saying yes is because I feel like that is information that he and he alone owns. And only he should disclose it."

Huckabee also said he's still paying off campaign debt and "federal jobs are not that lucrative."

Huckabee is not the only high-profile Trump backer to turn down a job in his administration. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, one of Trump's close advisers, declined two separate offers to work for him.

Kellyanne Conway, Trump's campaign manager who now serves as a senior adviser on his transition team, said no to serving as the White House press secretary.
