The communications director for Republican Sen. Mike Lee says that he won't let his boss go on "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos until he recuses himself from covering the 2016 presidential race.

Stephanopoulos apologized Thursday for not disclosing the fact that he has donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation, which he said he thought was "already a matter of public record."

Stephanopoulos also said that he has given a total of $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation.  ABC News initially said that Stephanopoulos had given a total of $50,000 to the foundation.

Carroll tweeted Thursday:

The Utah Republican last appeared on the ABC Sunday morning show in April for interview about his book "Our Lost Constitution."
