Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Friday that if former President Donald Trump is reelected, he would be willing to join the Trump administration if asked.
"I don't often comment on jobs I've not been offered," Pompeo said in an interview with Fox News.
"But if I get a chance to serve and think that I can make a difference, ... I'm almost certainly going to say yes to that opportunity to try and deliver on behalf of the American people."
Pompeo, who was Trump's CIA director before becoming his secretary of state, also addressed the expectations of loyalty within an administration, saying it's reasonable for a president to seek commitment to their vision from their team.
"I'm confident President Trump will be looking for people who will faithfully execute what it is he asked them to do," he continued. "I think as a president, you should always want that from everyone."
Pompeo concluded by speculating that the upcoming election is likely to be a rematch between the former president and President Joe Biden.
