Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said that he believes the release of the Democratic memo in response to the Republican memo is still in "discussions."
"I don't know that it's in our hands. Again, let's compare. Their memo, they released with almost no scrutiny. We wanted our memo to work with the FBI and the Justice Department to make sure they were comfortable with its release," he said Friday on CNN's "New Day."
"I believe they're still in discussions and negotiations."
The Democrat memo is a response to a memo from Rep. Devin Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee chairman, which alleged surveillance abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department.
The Democrat memo could come out if Democrats and the House Committee agree on what should be deleted from it, Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., said Wednesday.
