CNN’s Morgan Skewers Wasserman Schultz Over Wis. Comments

CNN’s Piers Morgan says he fails to understand how Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz can try to extract victory out of Democrats’ defeat in Tuesday’s Wisconsin gubernatorial recall race.

The Florida congresswoman tried Wednesday to make light of GOP Gov. Scott Walker’s victory during an interview with Morgan. “The state Senate is likely now to be controlled by the Democrats. And so we’re going to be able to stop Gov. Walker from being able to really continue to pursue those extremist policies,” she said. “So ultimately we were at least in part successful.”

She also claimed that many people preferred Democrat Tom Barrett but did not like the idea of recalling Walker less than halfway through his term.

But Morgan couldn’t stomach Wasserman Schultz's spin about Walker. “You keep calling him this great extremist who everyone apparently is terrified of and everything else, but the reality is he won. He won pretty convincingly,” the CNN host said.

“So the only one laying down it would seem to everyone else are the Democrats on this. So how are you claiming some kind of weird victory out of all this?”
