Dick Morris to Newsmax TV: 'A Mistake' For Bloomberg to Add Hillary to Ticket

It would "be a mistake" for former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg to put Hillary Clinton on the ticket as his running mate, but if he did, he would be looking toward her to give him a sense of "legitimacy" in the Democratic Party, Dick Morris, a longtime adviser to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, told Newsmax TV Monday.

"Bloomberg needs legitimacy in the Democratic Party," Morris told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman. "He is just kind of parachuting into it on the checkbook, with the check is his parachute."

Bloomberg has bought a great deal of airtime and may do well in a number of primaries, Morris added, but at the end of the day, "he's not from the Democratic Party. He was a Republican until 2004. He got elected as mayor of New York as a Republican and re-elected."

But Bloomberg is also under fire for saying things that were demeaning to women, and it "looks like all the things they falsely accused Trump of being, Bloomberg himself may be," Morris added.

As for Clinton, Morris said that he's always said of her that if "she has a pulse, she's, she's going to run for office," but she won't run for president because she will not have enough delegates to line up to compete.

"This the next best thing," he said, laughing. "Living in a world in which you were vice president to a president who in their eighties is apparently what we're entering now, vice president is not a bad job."

But she would not serve under Sen. Bernie Sanders, nor would he select her, Morris said.

Clinton also has a "Pandora's Box" of negative background, including her email scandal, the Benghazi incident and more, and if she decides to run for office, everything will come out, said Morris.

"She tried to slam it shut distracting attention with the Russia scandal which she has a lot to answer for because that was all invented by her own negative research people, said Morris.

Further, a full disclosure of the Clintons' activities would have to be made, and that would be "very interesting."
