House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi seemed to commit a verbal gaffe Tuesday when she said the NRA is part of the United States intelligence community.
Pelosi was being interviewed by CNN's Dana Bash at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation's 2017 Fiscal Summit and was speaking about claims that President Donald Trump may have tried to squash an FBI investigation into suspected ties between his campaign and Russia.
"To have a president say, if he did, to the director of the FBI, or the DNI, the Director of National Intelligence, or the NRA person that … they should not go forward, it raises questions that need to be answered in a facts and law way, and not hearsay," Pelosi said.
Pelosi was likely referring to the National Security Agency, not the National Rifle Association.
