House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi pushed back on President Donald Trump's verbal attacks on the Russia investigation, saying Trump's repeated criticisms of the probe show a "disturbing pattern."

Hours after FBI agents raided two offices, an apartment, and a hotel room tied to Trump attorney Michael Cohen, Trump blasted the moves as "an attack on our country in a true sense."

Pelosi responded a short time later.

"President Trump's disparagement of special counsel [Robert] Mueller's investigation as 'an attack on our country' is a grave reminder of his utter contempt for the rule of law," Pelosi said in a statement.

"Far from being a witch hunt, the special counsel has handed down indictments and secured multiple guilty pleas of Trump campaign officials. This investigation has made clear that the Russians perpetrated a strategic attack on the 2016 elections to support the Trump campaign."

According to The Washington Post, Cohen is being investigated for bank and wire fraud, along with campaign finance violations. Those allegations are likely tied to a $130,000 payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

Daniels said she had a brief affair with Trump in 2006 and signed a nondisclosure agreement with Cohen and received $130,000 to keep quiet about it.

Trump has denied the affair. Regarding the Russia investigation, Trump has termed it a witch hunt countless times.

"The president's constant attacks against special counsel Mueller are part of a disturbing pattern to undermine and obstruct the ongoing investigations into Russia's interference in our elections," Pelosi said. "The president must get serious about our national security, and allow special counsel to follow the facts, unhindered. The integrity of our democracy is at stake."
