Fox News host Neil Cavuto addressed President Donald Trump's battle of words with Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.
"You are running out of friends faster than you are running out of time. You might not like Bob Corker, but a lot of senators do, and you need those senators, sir," Cavuto said Tuesday night on "Your World With Neil Cavuto."
"Last time I checked, you are the president of the United States. So tweeting out these tacky insults just seems beneath you," Cavuto said.
Cavuto said that Trump has good ideas, but he is putting them at risk by taking aim at Corker. "Whether or not you think that you're justified, punching down ain't exactly helping you punch through," he said.
"It's not that some of your ideas aren't sound. They are. It's that, increasingly, this erratic behavior makes me wonder whether you are."
He pointed out that other Republicans could reach their limit with Trump's behavior. "Even assuming some of them have gotten used to this, how long do you think they put up with this? Loyalty works both ways, Mr. President," Cavuto said.
Trump needs to reach out beyond his base supporters, he said. "You're president of all voters, those that love you, and yeah, those that don't love you."
The Fox News host has criticized the president before. In August, he called on Trump to resist criticizing fellow Republicans. "Pointing the finger at your team only invites them to point a very different finger back at you," according to Fox News Insider.
