Newt Gingrich Rips Ex-KKK Leader David Duke's Senate Bid

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich Friday slammed former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke's plans to run for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana, saying on Twitter that "there is no place in the GOP for Ku Klux Klan hatred."

Duke, a registered Republican, announced on his website earlier Friday that he was seeking the seat being vacated by the retiring Sen. David Vitter.

Nearly two dozen candidates have signed up for the Senate race in Louisiana.
