While U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley will not "defend" President Donald Trump's "communication style," she does admit she can talk to him when she is "uncomfortable" and has "never been surprised about anything he said on Twitter."
"First of all, he has his communication style, but you're not hearing me defend that," Haley told CBS's "Sunday Morning." "What I will tell you is, if there is anything that he communicates in a way that I'm uncomfortable with, I pick up the phone and call him. I don't need to be public about that. I think that's a private conversation that should happen when I feel it, and I think it's one that he's receptive to when I do."
Despite frequent criticism aimed at President Trump's tweeting of foreign policy and alleged "confusion" among those in the administration, Haley added Trump is not hard to read and has views which are "certain."
"From foreign policy aspect, I have never been surprised about anything he said on Twitter," Haley said. "It's things he's been talking about. You know the direction he's going.
"He's not a hard read. He really does have certain views and you know usually where he's going to go with it."
