Conservative website Breitbart has no plans to let up its attacks on GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan now that Breitbart-supported Donald Trump has won the presidency, The Hill reports.

"Ryan will not get amnesty for his actions against the conservative movement and the American people," The Hill quoted a source it said was familiar with the website's internal deliberations.

Former Breitbart Chairman Steve Bannon left the site to become Trump's campaign chairman in August, and The Hill said its sources say he views Ryan as a "globalist" who isn't that much different that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

During his acceptance speech in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Trump himself expressed a willingness to work with fellow Republicans who opposed his run. And Ryan extended an olive branch after a rough political season in which his on-again, off-again backing of Trump drew criticism from the nominee's supporters.

"Donald Trump provided the kinds of coattails that got a lot of people over the finish line, so we can maintain our strong House and Senate majorities," Ryan said Wednesday.

Bannon has called Ryan "the enemy" in internal conference calls, The Hill writes, and in leaked emails told his staff to destroy the speaker.

They have followed up on that, The Hill notes, including calling Ryan a hypocrite for opposing Trump's border wall while building a wall around his own mansion in Janesville, Wisconsin. The site also hit Ryan for opposing Trump's Muslim ban because it would impose a "religious test," even though Ryan sends his children to a Catholic school that requires a religious test.

Breitbart also ran a 3,000-word anti-Ryan piece titled, "He’s with her: Inside Paul Ryan’s months-long campaign to elect Hillary Clinton president."

Brietbart may have an ally in a GOP-faction in the House angry that Ryan opted not to defend or support Trump after the lewd "Access Hollywood" tape was released in late September. CNN reported that Ryan's speakership could be in jeopardy.
