President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed Senate Democrats for blocking the nominations of "hundreds of good people," calling their obstruction the "worst in U.S. history!"
Trump has frequently criticized Democrats for slow-walking nominations, though it is unclear what specifically prompted Trump to go after them Wednesday.
However, the tweet comes a day after Trump added two more nominations that will require confirmation hearings. Mike Pompeo's hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will be held sometime in April. Trump named Pompeo secretary of state on Tuesday.
The Senate also has yet to schedule a hearing for Trump's new CIA director, Gina Haspel.
